Six person, low to ground Nest


As you can see, you can stand in this nest. Having it lower the ground makes it easier for elders to get in and out of as well. I also consider fit in environments where height is a consideration.

Six person, twelve foot tall Nest

This nest has a understory that serves as an additional space for kids to play under. It's basically the same size as the Nest above but it is built up higher which requires more engineering and wood. This particular nest was made from oak.

Eight person, Nest twelve feet tall

This nest is woven with less density. It is more of a oval shape. You can fit a double futon and it sleeps two people comfortably.

10 person Nest

Like the nest above this nest has a more oval shape that allows for a full queen size futon to be places inside. The wood used is a combination of plum, willow, pecan, and eucalyptus. The bottom of the nest is a complete space in and of itself. This nest lives on the Colorado River just outside of Austin, Texas on private property. _________________________________________________________________
10 person Nest intricately woven

This nest required a large quantity of wood and a lot of weaving. It's extremely strong as a result of using thicker branches. You can rent out this nest by the night at the Treebones resort in Big Sur,California.

Ten Person Nest

This nest is at personal residence in Carmel, CA. The pebble path leading to the nest and circular space that frames the base adds a beautiful touch to the piece. We celebrated the completion of this nest with a wonderful party featuring a Congolese Dance company performance.

Twenty Person Nest

These nests need to be created on site because they exceed the width of the highway and can only be transported by a helicopter. This Nest is at the Esalen Institute and was created for the first Esalen International Arts Festival. This nest has a second level that you can climb up to.

This nest was created for a family whose home overlooked the Pacific Ocean and is really huge. Its hard to really understand the size from this picture but the nest can easily hold thirty people. The view looking out the double spiraling openings is amazing.
