How are fork tubes measured?
Measure from the fork crown race to where the lower pressed race would enter the head tube. Next, measure the upper stack from where the upper pressed race would enter the head tube to the top of the adjusting race. Add any spacers and add the height of the stem. Add all these numbers together.
Can I put longer forks on my motorcycle?

How do I know what size forks to buy?
Wheel sizes If you have 27.5/650B or 29in wheels then you need the corresponding size fork. Tip: if you have 26in wheels you can use 26in size forks (obviously) but you can also get away with running a 27.5/650B fork without messing up your bike’s handling significantly.
What forks fit my motorcycle?
The main thing you need to look for is the steerer size. Most Mtb headtube is 1.1/8″, a few are 1.5″ or the combo of the two, tapered steerer. So as long as the fork is 1.1/8″ you are good to go.
Are longer travel forks longer?
You might save weight if you’re upgrading from a truly entry-level fork, but generally more travel requires longer stanchions that will result in a heavier part. As forks get longer, stanchions also increase in diameter to prevent the fork from flexing like a wet noodle.
Can I put bigger forks on my bike?
In general, bikes will happily accept forks that are up to 20mm larger than their designers intended. Feel free to go beyond that if you must, but be prepared for a bike that the manufacturer didn’t really intend to create. That doesn’t mean it will suck, but it’s just something to be aware of.
