I had heard Sugar Man in the last few years, on the radio station I listen to, and loved it, so was great to hear the story behind that song, and hear other songs of his. This is not just a music story, it is also a lovely story about the struggle for freedom in South Africa.

I’ve been aware of the solo album since like 2002 when I heard Nas “You’re the Man” which samples Sugar Man from Sixto Rodriguez album “Cold Fact” but it wasn’t until I saw this documentary that I could truly appreciate the music. This documentary is a great connection to the album.
