Menehune Water Co. is proud to be Hawaii’s largest bottled water company. Our founder and current President, Ken Simon, established the company in 1985. From its early beginnings, Menehune Water has been dedicated to providing its customers with exceptionally pure water combined with a high level of service.
Is Menehune real?
In 19th century Hawaii, Menehune were described as spirits of the forest or hard-working human beings depending on where and when you heard the accounts. In Oahu accounts, the Menehune tended to be real people but on Kauai they were more often depicted as supernatural creatures.
Is Menehune water safe to drink?
Yes. The U.S. Pharmacopeia uses “Total Dissolved Solids” (TDS) as a Key Measure of Water Purity with the lower the level the better. “Ultra-Pure” Menehune Water has fewer than 5 parts per million TDS. That’s less than 1/2 the USP Standard for Purified Water of 10 parts per million!

If you choose a 5-gallon cooler, you’ll likely pay a small upfront or monthly cost for the cooler. This small price can look appealing, but be careful! Over time, you’ll end up paying much more for bottled water compared to a bottle-less water cooler.
What are night marchers in Hawaii?
According to legend, the Night Marchers were ancient Hawaiian warriors. Today, their spirits are said to roam various areas on the islands, many of which were once great battlefields. They appear as ghostly apparitions who carry torches and play drums while they chant.
What happened to the Menehune?
The Menehune were already inhabiting the islands when the new settlers from Tahiti came in and began oppressing them, labeling them as Manahune, or ‘commoner’ in the Tahitian language. They were ultimately forced to flee to the mountains and valleys where they could remain hidden.
Is waiakea water good for you?
