Can I take the CFSC online? No. not even if you live in the middle of nowhere. There are websites out there selling practice tests, and study material.
Do you need a pal for non-restricted firearm in Canada?
All PAL applicants are recommended to successfully complete the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) for a Non-restricted licence, and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) for a restricted licence.

Can you borrow a non-restricted firearm in Canada?

In Canada, SKS magazines are pinned to 5 rounds. It’s a bit of a pain in the ass, because it means you have to fashion your own 5 round stripper clips to take hunting but it’s also a decent amount of ammo to take out on a hunt. A lot of the guys sporting WSM or WSSMs only have 2 or 3 rounds per magazine.
