What is the difference between a health cash plan and health insurance?
Health insurance is not the same thing as a health care cash plan, and you can even have both at the same time. Health insurance usually covers you for treatment of conditions that develop after you take out the plan, whereas you can use a cash plan to pay for ongoing and routine treatments.

Where the employee has opted to pay for additional cover, the payment is taken directly from their wages and this is also subject to income tax. The cost of providing health cash plans is an allowable expense and can be deducted for the purpose of corporation tax.
