How do I set up Hdsdr?
Set up your Rig
- Load HDSDR but do not “Start” it yet.
- Connect the “Line In” jack on the RX to the “Line In” input jack of your PC’s (or external USB) soundcard.
- Verify that your soundcard’s “Line In” is enabled.
- Connect a 50 ohm antenna to your Rig’s antenna connector.
What does Hdsdr stand for?
HDSDR is a freeware Software Defined Radio (SDR) program for Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8/10/11. Typical applications are Radio listening, Ham Radio, SWL, Radio Astronomy, NDB-hunting and Spectrum analysis. HDSDR (former WinradHD) is an advanced version of Winrad, written by Alberto di Bene (I2PHD).
What is Unitrunker?
Unitrunker is software that allows you to follow trunked voice conversations, and SDR-Console V2 is a general purpose receiver, similar to other software such as SDR#.
Can you transmit with RTL-SDR?
The downsides of the RTL-SDR is that it can’t transmit and that the tuner range usually stops before the commonly used 2.4GHz band. Once you get into the higher-end radios, you not only get transmit capabilities, but also a wider tuner range and sample rate.
How do I listen to trunked radio with SDR?
With two RTL-SDR dongles you can set up a trunking receiver station with just Unitrunker….For the RTL-SDR this should be within about 2.56 MHz of bandwidth.
- Press the ‘Add new receiver’ button and then on the bar that pops up click on the RTL2832 button.
- Under “RTL Device” select your dongle.
