Is Iroko a good wood?
Iroko is a common tree in intertropical Africa. It is a durable wood, which does not require any preservative treatment: it therefore offers economic and ecological advantages that make it an ideal material for outdoor use.

Once sanded, we strongly recommend leaving the new surface to weather untreated for 12 weeks (the longer the better), so that the elements can improve absorbency on the surface.

Does Iroko change colour?
Iroko wood can come in a variety of colours since it changes hues over time. In the beginning, because it comes from a West African tree with pale wood, Iroko wood is yellow or a very light golden-brown colour. However, over time, it changes into a darker shade of brown.
