- What to Wear. We recommend that you send your child to KampOut! in clothes that can get dirty.
- Pack a Safe Lunch. Lunches will be kept inside, but will not be in refrigerators.

Former Kanakuk counselor Lee Bradberry is sentenced to 10 years in prison for sodomy and other crimes he committed while on Kanakuk summer staff. Paul Kerr, a former Kanakuk counselor hired in 1998, pleads guilty to child abuse in Missouri state court. The first of many civil lawsuits against Kanakuk and former Director Pete Newman are filed.
