Who can use KCL libraries?
Our libraries are currently closed to external visitors (except for Special Collections and Archives), access is prioritised for current King’s students, staff, NHS members of the library, Alumni, eligible Independent Researchers and registered SCONUL Band-A users.
Can KCL students use UCL Library?
students and staff can apply for borrowing access from King’s College library under the SCONUL Access Band ‘A’ scheme upon production of a passport sized photograph, full valid UCL ID and a SCONUL Access Band ‘A’ card (obtained through UCL library).

Can you eat in KCL library?
Answer. From the 6 September 2021 there is a new policy of no food/eating in the libraries, only lidded drinks are permitted. The exception is at the Maughan Library where you can eat in the Rolls Cafe on the Lower Ground Floor.
Can KCL students use SOAS library?
King’s College London SOAS Staff and Research students (MPhil/PhD) may apply for borrowing membership via SCONUL Access. Taught postgraduate (MA/MSc etc) and undergraduate students may use the College’s libraries on a reference only basis for material not held by SOAS.

Can anyone use the Maughan Library?
In order to gain access, you will need your King’s ID card. You will then find the Meet & Greet point straight ahead as you enter. Staff can be recognised by their purple lanyards. Visitors are requested to inform Security and Library staff of their arrival.
